Monumo has won Track 2 of the ABB Motors and Drives North America Crack the Cost Challenge 2026! The win follows a 10-day sprint in September with ABB engineers to scope a proof of concept and a pitch to judges from ABB Motors and Drives North America, Google, and SynerLeap in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Our technology is perfect for the challenge ABB set: • Every improvement in electric motor design comes at a cost elsewhere, e.g., more copper cuts losses but adds cost. • Most design tools evaluate these factors, but mostly one at a time, so the best overall design isn’t obvious • The track asked for a solution that could test millions of design combinations to find the best balance of cost, efficiency and manufacturability, working with ABB's existing design tools We look forward to the next steps working with the ABB Motors and Drives North America team to co-develop and deliver our MVP.
